These are some of the most common questions we are asked, if you have a different question please contact us directly, hopefully we have the answer.

Are you open on weekends?

– no, generally we are closed on the weekend. However, we are happy to open outside normal business hours by arrangement.

How quickly can you do the work?

– normally most installations can be arranged to take place within 10 working days of your initial enquiry.

However the COVID-19 operating environment is unusual and current lead time is closer to 20 working days and we are experiencing some shipping delays into the bargain.

Will I need a deposit?

yes. We do ask for 50% deposit prior to booking an installation and payment of the rest will be due immediately on completion.

No deposit will be required for initial consultations and customised quotes, of course, these are given obligation free.

How can I pay?

– we accept direct bank transfers, cheque and credit & debit cards, we don’t accept AMEX.

How long will it take?

– each job is very different. Solatube Skylights can be installed in around two hours. However larger velux skylights can take one or two days depending on the scope of the work.

All of this will be discussed and agreed with you at the time of your quote, so you will always know exactly what to expect and can make arrangements accordingly.

Do you have your own installers?

– yes. We pride ourselves on the quality of the work we do. Our installers are all highly skilled, fully insured, experienced and responsible and only work for us.

Can you do installations over the weekend?

– yes, though weekend slots book quite quickly, as generally our installers are only available one or two weekends in any given month

Are you flexible with appointments?

– absolutely! We are happy to work around our customer’s requirements for out of hours consultations & installations where ever possible.

Are installations messy?

– not at all. Our experienced installers know exactly what they are doing, and will work with you to achieve minimum disruption. We use drop sheets, clean up and take away all trade waste.

We pride ourselves in treating your home exactly as if it where our own.

Do you sell replacement Diffusers?

– yes, however, we only stock diffusers for all Solatube products. We can also cut standard square diffusers to size when necessary.

Do you have a range of different skylight finishes? –

yes! Our Solatube Tubular Skylights have a whole range of designer finishes available. Velux also offer different finishes depending on the range, these will be detailed on each individual products page.

Do you have your products on display?

yes. Our showroom has many different skylights on display, not only on display stands, but also real skylights installed, lighting up our showroom and offices, in fact, we have over twenty five in all.

So you really can get to see these products working before you buy.

Do you repair skylights?

– yes. Subject to an initial (no obligation) inspection, we can offer to either repair your skylight if this is a safe & cost effective solution or we can look at a replacement service, if this is better suited to the situation.

All of the options will be discussed with you in detail and prices for all options given for you to make an informed decision.

What area do you service?

– we service the whole of Melbourne and its North East surrounding suburbs.

How long have you been in business?

officially over 20 years. We started trading as Diamond Skylights back in 2001 when we formed our relationship with VELUX. However previous to that, we had a close relationship with Solatube, as a dealer for their products for over 10 Years.

Today we are proud to be recognised by VELUX and Solatube as their premier dealer in Melbourne’s Northern and Eastern Suburbs.

Are your consultations really 100% free, with no obligation to buy?

-100% Yes.  Absolutely obligation free and no charge what so ever.

What if I have a problem after the installation of one of your products?

-we pride ourselves in the service we provide, both before and after you have become a part of the Diamond Skylights family.

With our experienced design team and qualified installers, our top priority is to avoid any after sales complications. However, if any issues do arise, we offer a 3-year installation warranty and aim to service any call outs within 24 hours.

We like to think we are small enough to care about every single one of our clients, but large enough to resolve things quickly.

Which is the best skylight for my house?

– every house is different, as is what you want to achieve with your natural lighting. It really depends on what you need the light for, where you need it and what your budget is.

In some cases, people actually have a need for more than one type of skylight, to help them achieve different effects in different spaces, this is why we have such a range on offer.

Do you hold stock in your showroom?

Yes, but it’s difficult to carry everything all the time. So if you’d like to purchase over the counter/phone and know exactly what you’re looking for, why not purchase online or call ahead to check we have that specific product in stock?

If we don’t, we’ll order it in for you and it should arrive within a few working days.
